I keep looking at that and thinking it’s a typo too. I also keep thinking I’m going to wake up and find we’re still at the 100-day mark that I noted, well, 99 days ago.
But so far that hasn’t happened, and my friends, we’re now a lone day away from the greatest month long celebration the world has to offer!
In celebration of the celebration, with one day left we bring you the one goal scored by an American in the 2006 World Cup, and man Clint Dempsey was it a beauty!
Brilliant stuff from one half of D&D. What a perfect ball, and a confident, composed finish to match!
As brilliant as it was, it was a disappointment that an American’s first goal was coming in the third game of the tournament. So as we sit a day out and two days away from the State’s biggest game since they took on five-time World Champions Brazil in the Confed Cup final, here’s to doubling that number against England and even more throughout the group!
“Don’t discount just yet the fight, the heart and the vigor and verve of the U.S.A.!”
